People spilled the beans. This is how much a Steam Machine will cost

Last year’s presentation of new Valve hardware aroused interest not only among the press and PC enthusiasts, but also among casual gamers. All thanks to a small and easy-to-use computer resembling a console, i.e. Steam Machine. And although a lot of time has passed since the show, the price still remains a mystery. But information has now appeared on the Internet that sheds new light.

Valve has a problem due to the madness in the DRAM and NAND market

The source of the confusion is the Czech store Smarty.cz, which for a moment published two versions of Steam Machine on the website. Their offer shows that the basic variant with 512 GB SSD would cost CZK 19,826, or approximately PLN 3,429. The more expensive version with 2 TB storage was priced at 22,305 kroner, or approximately PLN 3,859.

Of course, these are not prices confirmed by Valve. This may be just a filler until the official premiere and/or the actual price, but with the Czech intermediary’s margin added. Finally, Steam Machine will be sold officially on Steam.

There’s also a good chance that Valve itself still doesn’t know how to price its Mini PC. The memory market has gone crazy, RAM and SSD modules are becoming more expensive from week to week, and their availability is decreasing. Thus, Americans face a challenge – if they price the equipment too low, it will quickly turn out that they will have to pay extra for the business. And if the price turns out to be excessive, we will have a repeat of the history of the first Steam Machine from 2015…
