AMD Ryzen 9000 are already selling below their suggested retail prices
AMD is going all out to convince consumers to buy new processors. It looks like the Reds are even ready to quickly reduce prices.
This month, processors debuted AMD Ryzen 9000 for desktop computers. There are four different models in total – Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X. All of them use AMD’s new Zen5 architecture and a combination of 4nm and 6nm lithography from TSMC.
A few days after the premiere and the prices are already below the suggested retail prices
The first reviews were moderately good, but the further we went into the forest, the worse it looked. The performance boost turned out to be small, especially in games. The AMD Ryzen 7000(X3D) series is often much more profitable. As a result, the sales results of new CPUs from the Reds do not look good.
AMD has decided to make the AMD Ryzen 9000 series more attractive to consumers. First, by slightly increasing performance by increasing the TDP of weaker models, and now probably quietly lowering suggested prices. New systems are sold in Europe below MSRP.

So far the reductions are smallbut it is worth recalling that the processors in question debuted a few days ago – on August 8 and 15. It looks best in the case of AMD Ryzen 9 9900X. Here, the suggested price for Europe is 549 euros, or about 2345 PLN. In Poland, however, this processor can be purchased for 2099 PLN (-11%).

The situation is similar in other countries, such as Germany.. And that’s even after taking into account the difference in taxes. You shouldn’t assume that this is the good will of the stores – none of them would like to be losing money. Why this decision? There are two options. Either sales are exceptionally weak, or impending Intel Arrow Lake-S will be exceptionally good.
