Is This the End of Parcel Lockers? Popular Brand Goes to War

Empik has announced several new products in its offer. The so-called Empikomats, or machines that have appeared in four stores for testing purposes, are particularly interesting. If they do well, there is a chance that more of them will appear.

Empik is putting up Empikomats

Empikomats appeared in four stores: Legionowo Piłsudskiego, Warszawa Wola Park, Grudziądz Alfa and Włocławek City — reports dlahandlu.pl. These are machines that act as parcel machines. They can be used to receive orders placed in the Empik online store without contact. Importantly, they currently only work with products from the chain’s own offer.

Interestingly, customers do not have the option of choosing Empikomat as a method of collecting their parcel, even in the above-mentioned stores. This is currently happening automatically if the order meets certain conditions regarding size or payment method. The first tests are very promising. Empik data shows that as many as 75% of customers were satisfied with this method of collection and would prefer it to collection at the checkout.

In addition, Empik also announced that it is now possible to collect orders from external sellers at the checkout, which was not possible until now.
