Microsoft has announced a price increase for the Xbox Game Pass service. However, this is not the end of the increases. In time, we will pay even more for the subscription.
Xbox Game Pass will be more expensive. It’s official. For the Xbox Game Pass PC version, we will pay PLN 47.99 instead of the previous PLN 39.99, and the Ultimate package will cost PLN 73.99 (previously PLN 62.99). In addition, Microsoft is withdrawing the console plan and preparing Xbox Game Pass Standard in its place, but we still have to wait for its premiere. However, this is not the end of the increases, or at least that is what market experts say.

Rhys Elliott from MIDiA Research believes that Xbox has little chance of increasing the number of Game Pass subscribers on consoles. The fluctuations will be small and therefore Microsoft is looking for other ways to increase profits. The simplest is to simply increase the price for the service, which is what happened.
Expect more price increases in the future. The PC price hike suggests that growth is also starting to saturate. It’s nearly impossible to lure PC gamers away from Steam.

The expert also believes that further price increases are practically inevitable. They probably won’t happen anytime soon, but at some point Microsoft will have to increase prices again to keep the service profitable.
