Active Parent – an attractive program

On October 1, the recruitment of applications for the Active Parent program began. The program provides for as many as three benefits for parents who have children aged 12-35 months, including the famous “grandmother’s benefits”. The first payments were scheduled for November and December.

Applications for the Active Parent program can only be submitted online. This form turned out to be very accessible, as over 200,000 applications were received in just two days. This was the benefit that Poles requested most often.

Refund requests

Now ZUS is sending information to some parents and guardians who receive benefits under the program Active Parent program. Some people will have to return the funds to ZUS.

Who must return money to ZUS and why?

The problem in question concerns a situation where parents were simultaneously receiving benefits from another care program – Family Care Capital (CPR). If this was the case, families and guardians are obliged to settle the overpayments.

CPR is a benefit intended for families with second and subsequent children aged 12-35 months. Under it, parents could receive up to PLN 12,000 in two different payment options. However, the regulations are clear and transparent: Money from the Active Parent program and CPR cannot be collected for the same child at the same time.

However, during the transition period, while the Active Parent application was being considered, parents were still able to receive CPR payments, which led to this situation of overpayments. ZUS explains that after granting the Active Parent benefit, the overpaid funds must be returned. Settlement decisions along with refund instructions were sent to recipients on December 4 and 5.
