FIFA and TikTok have signed an agreement on their preferred platform, which strengthens cooperation between both parties at the same time FIFA World Cup 2026. The agreement is valid until the end of the year and is expected to translate into a much greater presence of official tournament content on the popular mobile platform with short videos.
TikTok announces a strong fight against piracy
The new agreement is an extension of the cooperation initiated during the Women’s World Championships in 2023. According to FIFA, that initiative generated tens of billions of viewswhich showed TikTok’s potential as a global partner in the distribution of sports video content.
The central element of cooperation will be dedicated FIFA World Cup 2026 hub on TikTok. It is intended to aggregate video materials related to the tournament as well information about tickets and opportunities to watch the broadcast. Users will also get access to additional functionssuch as special stickers, filters and gamification elements.
FIFA and TikTok will also launch a global creator program. Selected influencers will receive behind-the-scenes access to the tournament, including press conferences and team training. At the same time, a wider group of creators will be able to co-create materials using FIFA’s archive resources, which is expected to increase the diversity and reach of the published content.
FIFA’s official media partners will also benefit from the agreement. Broadcasters will gain access to additional, curated clips and materials produced directly by FIFA for TikTok. The organization also announces the possibility of broadcasting live fragments of matches and monetizing World Cup content using premium advertising formats.
As part of the cooperation, TikTok also committed to implementing anti-piracy solutions. They are intended to protect FIFA’s rights and intellectual property during the tournament and limit unauthorized broadcasts and copies of video materials.
