Xiaomi 17T has already been revealed. Premiere six months in advance

Information about the upcoming Xiaomi 17T has appeared on the Internet, which was extracted directly from the HyperOS code. Everything indicates that the Chinese manufacturer intends to make a big stir in its publishing calendar. Instead of the traditional autumn premiere known from previous generations of the T series, new smartphones may debut globally much earlier, in February.

The model hidden under the code name “P12A” promises to be a very solid, almost flagship. The heart of the device will be the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s system. It’s a new 3nm chip that debuted in January and features CPU cores clocked at up to 3.73 GHz, Arm Immortalis-G925 graphics, and a high-performance NPU designed to support generative AI. So there will definitely be no shortage of power.

Analysis of the source code also revealed a photography section. The main camera will be a 50 Mpix unit with the OmniVision OV50E (OVX8000) sensor. It will be supported by two additional modules: a 12 Mpix ultra-wide-angle module with the OmniVision OV13B matrix and a telephoto lens using a 50 Mpix Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor. The 32 Mpix Samsung camera will be responsible for selfie photos.

Reports indicate that Xiaomi 17T will also receive a flat OLED screen with a diagonal of 6.83 inches, 1.5K resolution and a high refresh rate of 144 Hz.

Code analysis shows that Xiaomi 17T is to be equipped with a 6,500 mAh battery. This is a big jump compared to the 5500 mAh cells known from previous models, although the manufacturer decided to be somewhat conservative in terms of charging speed, remaining at 67 W.

The whole thing will work under the control of Android 16 with the latest HyperOS 3 overlay, and the housing will meet the IP68 tightness standard.

If the reports are confirmed, we can expect the official presentation of Xiaomi 17T and the Pro variant in the coming weeks.
