Xiaomi 17 Max with a giant battery and powerful cameras

After the debut of the first three models (Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max) and the subsequent premiere of Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the Chinese manufacturer decided that there was still room for a fifth model. Xiaomi 17 Max appears in subsequent leaks and promises to be more and more interesting.

What we have been dreaming about for some time, the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max will be equipped with a battery with a capacity of up to 8000 mAh, which will exceed the 7500 mAh in Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The cell will be supported by fast wired charging with a power of 100 W and wireless 50 W, which will allow for instant energy replenishment despite the large battery capacity.

According to information provided by Digital Chat Station, the smartphone will receive an AMOLED display with a diagonal of up to 6.9 inches (like the Ultra model), with ultra-thin frames. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system will be responsible for performance – the same one that powers the other models from the 17 series.

However, the most exciting section is the photography section. New reports show that the main camera of Xiaomi 17 Max is to be based on the Samsung ISOCELL sensor from the HP series with a resolution of 200 Mpix. It will probably be a new HPE matrix with a 1/1.4-inch format. It will be accompanied by a 50 Mpix camera with a telephoto lens, using a Sony IMX8xx series sensor (1/1.95 inch), and a 50 Mpix ultra-wide-angle camera.

Cooperation with the Leica brand is also to be continued, which means the characteristic color and shade reproduction known from the latest Xiaomi flagships. However, unlike the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models, the new 17 Max will probably not receive an additional display on the back, which may be good news for many users.

The premiere of Xiaomi 17 Max is to take place in China, and global availability remains questionable for now. It is possible that this model will be available only in the manufacturer’s country, although nothing is certain. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the existence of this variant or its release date, but the leak source indicates that the announcement could take place in the second quarter of 2026.
