The latest test version Windows 11 with marking “27686” finally increases partition capacity in FAT32 format. Until now, there was a limit 32GB introduced back in the days of Windows 95which at that time was related to the best use of space on small media.

From now on, the quick formatting option will allow you to creating partitions in FAT32 format with a capacity of up to 2 TB. This is a great convenience, because although newer formats such as exFAT or NTFS were already available, FAT32 remained the standard supported by the largest number of devices.
