why did the Model 3 Performance disappear from the catalog?

The new Tesla Model 3, which has been in the catalog since this morning, has not stopped making headlines. However, one variant is missing. Where has the Tesla Model 3 Performance gone?

You are probably aware that the new Tesla Model 3 was announced this morning. Until yesterday, you could order 3 different variants: the Tesla Model 3 propulsion, the Tesla Model 3 Grande Autonomie and the Tesla Model 3 Performance.

But where is the Tesla Model 3 Performance hiding?

The differences between these models lie mainly in two things: autonomy and power. The entry-level model, the Tesla Model 3 Propulsion, is the least expensive and the most successful. It now has a range of 554 km and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds with a speed limited to 201 km/h.

Its price/autonomy/services ratio is excellent, and it is sufficient for most profiles. People wanting (or needing) more power, greater autonomy, or even four-wheel drive had until yesterday the choice between two other versions.

To date, only the Tesla Model 3 Grande Autonomie remains (0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, maximum speed of 201 km/h, and WLTP range of 678 km), given that the Tesla Model 3 Performance is gone. If we had to make a prediction, however, we would not say that it is abandoned, quite the contrary.

It is likely that Tesla will update the production lines and that the one dedicated to the Model 3 Performance has not yet been completed. This is also why delivery times were quite long for the Performance variant when it was still possible to order it until yesterday.

Because the good surprise is that it seems that if you bought a Tesla Model 3 before the Highland was announced, you have a chance of receiving the new version.

In addition, Tesla could keep the announcement of the Tesla Model 3 Performance “Highland” about which we do not know much for later, just to gain a little additional publicity. It could have a longer range than the old one, innovative wheel designs, and even more impressive acceleration.. And, of course, a much higher maximum speed, restricted on the Propulsion and Long Autonomy versions due to the new comfort tires.

The answers will certainly arrive before the end of the year, but until then, if you want a Model 3 Performance, you have to be patient.
