What's next for the RTV subscription?
Andrzej Wyrobiec, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, replied that such an exemption is not currently possible. This is due to the fact that the government is working on an extensive reform of public media, which aims to adapt them to European requirements. He admitted that the changes would probably also affect radio and television license fees and therefore partial changes are not planned for now.
Previous information shows that the government may plan to completely abolish the radio and television license fee in favor of an audiovisual fee. This would be much lower than the current contribution, but at the same time it would be automatically collected with taxes, so it would not be possible to avoid it. Will it ultimately have this shape? We don't know that yet, but there is a good chance it will happen.
A radio and television license fee must be paid by households with at least one receiver of each type. Only retirees over 75 years of age, people in the first disability group, disabled veterans and retirees over 60 years of age whose pension does not exceed 50% are exempt from the fee. average salary.
