Police officers from the Wrocław city police station have reasons to be proud. They managed to recover 160 electric bicycles, worth PLN 3 million. These devices have recently become very desirable among thieves. All of them were stolen within the EU.

An electric bike is a prized possession

Police officers from Wrocław detained a 23-year-old gang member who was involved in stealing electric bicycles in European Union countries. So far, the officers have managed to recover 160 such two-wheelers, whose value is estimated at approximately PLN 3 million. However, the matter is still developing and it is possible that such devices will still be available.

Last week, officers of the Department for Combating Car Crime of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Wrocław, together with police officers of the Implementation Group of the Prevention and Patrol Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Wrocław, and in cooperation with officers of the Długołęka Police Headquarters, detained one of the members of a criminal group involved in large-scale bicycle thefts. electrical appliances originating from the European Union.

The police had been dealing with this case for some time. The circumstances were investigated and various places where stolen electric vehicles could be found were checked. Large-scale activities are still being carried out, and they are largely secret.

Found electric bikes were being prepared for sale. Mostly deprived of identifying elements, they were practically waiting for new buyers.

Let us remind you that this type of theft is punishable by up to 5 years in prison. And for burglary, even twice as much.
