AMD presents new AMD Granite Ridge processors. It's official

Want the best gaming processor? Then don't buy Ryzen 9000

Are you looking for the most efficient gaming processor? Then you shouldn't buy the new AMD Ryzen 9000 chips.

A few days ago, AMD presented the new generation of Ryzen 9000 processors. These will go on sale in July and although they are supposed to be more efficient than their predecessors, they will not be the best choice for gamers. This is confirmed by Don Waligorski himself.

AMD Ryzen 9000 not for gamers

Don Waligorski from AMD confirmed that Ryzen 9000 (Zen 5) systems will not be the best choice for gamers. In an interview with Tom's Hardware, he admitted that in the case of games, the previous generation models will be more efficient, but with 3D V-Cache memory, i.e. the Ryzen 7000X3D series.

Are new processors best for gaming? In our tests, they are better than the competition. However, the X3D series still reigns supreme, but the differences are much smaller than usual between X3D and non-X3D systems. Therefore, Ryzen 7 7800X3D will be faster than Ryzen 7 9700X in games, but the difference will not be as big as you think.

– said Don Waligorski from AMD.

If you are planning to replace your computer or the processor itself and you care about AMD systems, you should probably wait until the release of the Ryzen 9000X3D series, because this one will also be created. The official release date has not been revealed yet, but rumors already point to the end of the third quarter of this year, so even before the Intel Core Ultra 200 models. It would be surprising, but it is not impossible.

In an earlier conversation, Don Waligorski admitted that Ryzen 9000X3D systems will undergo several significant changes, but we do not know what exactly he meant.
