Viaplay, a popular streaming platform offering a wide range of films and series, is expanding its services in Poland. From December 9, Prime Video users will have the opportunity to subscribe to the Viaplay Filmy i Seriale channel as part of Prime Video Channels. This is the next step in the international content distribution strategy, which previously covered markets such as the United States, Great Britain and Germany.

Viaplay subscribers will gain access to a rich library, including original Nordic productions, recognized documentaries, Polish hits and popular international series. The offer includes, among others:
- original Polish productions: crime series “Murderczynie” and true crime documentaries such as “The Case of Iwona Wieczorek” or “Mysteries of Polish Murders”,
- Nordic crime stories and dramas: including “Bridge over the Øresund”, “Wisting”, “Fenris” and “Trom”,
- hits from the USA and international productions: “Billy the Kid”, “SWAT”, “The Good Doctor” and films such as “One Angry Man” and “Honest Thief”,
- news: comedy-drama “Stroke” with Jacek Poniedziałek in the main role, which will premiere on December 17.
Premiere of the series “Udar”
One of the most important premieres as part of the new subscription will be “Impact” – an eight-episode comedy-drama telling the story of Jacek, a Warsaw bon vivant and star of a cooking show, who tries to find the meaning of life again after suffering a stroke. The series, created by Paweł Demirski, offers a fresh look at the contemporary artistic elite with a large dose of irony and humor.

Subscribing to the Viaplay channel in Prime Video Channels is intended to be a simple way to access your favorite content without having to install additional applications. As Viaplay Group representatives emphasize, Poland remains a key market for content distribution, despite the planned end of sports broadcasts by mid-2025. Thanks to cooperation with partners such as Prime Video, viewers will continue to be able to enjoy a diverse range of films and series, including both Nordic and international productions.
After the debut of Viaplay Content Distribution content within Prime Video Channels, which took place earlier this year in the United States, Great Britain and Germany, we are pleased to expand this cooperation, based on the additional subscription model, also in Poland. Through our partner’s service, Polish viewers will be able to easily access the Viaplay channel to enjoy a wide range of international films and series. It includes, among others: cult Nordic productions such as “The Øresund Bridge”; “Wisting” or “Penoza”, American hits such as “SWAT”; “NCIS: Hawaii” and “The Good Doctor”, as well as “Stroke”, which will soon have its premiere in Poland.

In accordance with the previously announced strategy update, Viaplay Group is currently focusing on the Nordic region and the Netherlands, and by summer 2025 it will cease its operations in Poland including broadcasts of the most important sports events. However, Viaplay Content Distribution will continue to work with our partners, through Viaplay Select and SVOD channels, in key markets to ensure viewers continue to have access to an impressive range of international films and series. Poland will remain a key market for our content distribution business and our international SVOD channel. In addition, our range of films and series will be available in the market through our existing partners and distribution channels until mid-2025, and will continue after that period through Prime Video Channels and other partners.
