Update Windows. We’ve been waiting for this feature for 41 years
Microsoft decided to make a nice surprise for Windows 11 users. A useful feature tested in March, now available to everyone.
A useful feature updated after 41 years
Microsoft was already testing the updated app in March. It was a Notepad feature with integrated spell checking. Now, this improved version of the text editor has been made available to all Windows 11 users.
Windows Notepad first appeared in 1983 and for many years felt like an application frozen in time. Nothing has changed there between the different generations of the operating system. It’s only in recent years that things have started to improve. In 2018, Notepad got some new features: find, replace, text magnification, and line numbering with word wrap enabled. In 2021, dark mode compatibility, automatic session recovery and a new interface were added with cards to handle multiple files.
Spell checker
From now on we have Spell Checker. We can feel really pampered. You’ll know if you have it when you misspell a word or two or use unfamiliar terms. Windows users will immediately see a distinctive, wavy red underline under questionable vocabulary. Of course, you need to update the application first.

Microsoft has always classified spell checking as a premium feature, so its inclusion in Notepad can be considered a pleasant surprise.
