UFO fans fell into ecstasy after Trump’s declaration. Completely unnecessary

I am not going to write here about whether extraterrestrial intelligence exists at all. And if it exists, does it visit earth, does the US government know about it, is it hidden, or even the fact that space, shape-shifting lizards rule the world, or at least Facebook. And for a quite simple reason: I have no idea what the truth is. However, I am almost certain that there is nothing specific behind Donald Trump’s loud declarations.

A storm in a glass UFO

It all started by accident. Well, Barack Obama participated in the No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen podcast. There was a simple question:

Do aliens really exist?

To which there was a rather unfortunate answer:

They are real, but I haven’t seen them. (…) They are not being held at Area 51 – there is no underground facility, unless some huge conspiracy has hidden it even from me.

It is worth emphasizing that this segment of the conversation in this case was quite loose and joking. Therefore, you should not take the answers given therein seriously. Of course, after something like this, the Internet caught fire. There have been many reports of the former US president confirming the existence of aliens and talking about a conspiracy hiding the truth even from himself.

The fact that the very next day Barack Obama issued a correction in which he stated that he had not seen evidence of the existence of aliens, but simply believed that they were there somewhere because that was what the statistics would suggest. Of course, ufological circles considered this to be further evidence of a conspiracy.

Well, it was quite widely agreed that Obama was intimidated and forced to withdraw his words. So we have classic Monty Python and a scene from Life of Brian where he declares that he is not the Messiah. And it could have ended there if Donald Trump hadn’t shown up shouting that he was the Messiah.

Donald Trump will reveal the truth to us… or not

Donald Trump immediately accused Barack Obama of revealing classified information. He emphasized that it was a big mistake and the former US president should not have done it. He added that for Obama’s sake he would declassify these files so that they would no longer be a secret. After these words, many UFO enthusiasts lost contact with planet Earth. However, it is worth remembering that not everyone. Some of the community has remained sensible and is quite skeptical about the words of the current President of the United States.

However, people who are not very interested in the topic of contacts with extraterrestrial life claim that Donald Trump is simply putting on a show to divert attention from the scandals in which he is involved or in which he is accused of participating. Especially those concerning a certain infamous island.

Of course, in that case he could sit back and enjoy the media attention returning to his predecessor. The thing is that the current US president is the type of star who has a hard time coping with a situation in which he is not the center of media attention. Therefore, his statements about Brack Obama may be a simple bluff. And his generous declaration to declassify the files will turn out to be nothing more than a sham.

Let us remember that Trump’s declarations regarding international policy, such as imposing tariffs, or even starting wars, or forcibly taking over the territories of allied countries, have repeatedly proven to be unreliable. Expecting him to keep his word, especially regarding secret UFO files, is quite naive.

What if Trump keeps his word?

This cannot be ruled out either. It is possible that we will get a broader view of what has long been declassified and presented: UFOs exist. More precisely, UAP, i.e. unidentified aerial phenomena do exist. There is much evidence of phenomena that cannot be explained. Many of them come from the US military, especially its air force.

The problem is that officially we don’t know what we’re dealing with. Unofficially… it is also not certain whether the US government knows what it is. So we can get more information about such phenomena, but without explaining what they actually are. And it will be the most sincere declaration of the US government.

It is also possible that the United States actually has contact with an alien civilization, but as part of a grand conspiracy it is hidden from everyone, and fans of this particular conspiracy theory are right. The problem is that many of these theories assume that the US president or any other politician knows nothing about it, and that government agencies are responsible for the contact as part of a secret conspiracy.

Assuming that in such a case they will listen to a president who has no idea what the truth looks like is also extremely naive. Especially since two other cases are omitted here.

Trump wasn’t the first, Congress was already investigating this

In 2022-2023, hearings on the UFO case took place before the US Congress. There were many declarations about the government’s contacts with alien civilizations, spacecraft disasters, alien debris and acquired technology. What was interrogated here was not random people who claimed to have seen something, but US military personnel, including very high-ranking ones.

David Grusch is a good example. We are talking about a former officer of the United States Air Force who also worked for the local intelligence and spoke in detail about the US obtaining the remains of non-human intelligence vehicles, i.e. those belonging to the civilization of creatures other than humans. However, his previous position does not prove that he was telling the truth. Especially since the Pentagon denied everything.

Despite this, no public evidence was presented at that time, not even in the form of documents. It is, of course, worth emphasizing that some of the interrogations were secret. Therefore, key evidence could be presented during them. They could, but didn’t have to, which is worth keeping in mind.

AARO

Moreover, in 2022, the Pentagon established the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). This is the body whose duty was to receive UAP reports and analyze them thoroughly and seriously. After just one year, AARO issued a statement that it had found no evidence that the U.S. government was hiding the UFO secret. However, most of the reports were considered to be incorrect identification of well-known flying objects. Most, of course, does not mean all. AARO does not dispute that there are UAP incidents that it cannot explain.

Of course, ufological circles immediately concluded that AARO is an agency whose goal is to spread disinformation and cover up traces about aliens. Let’s assume for a moment that they are right and this is the case in practice: then do they really believe that one decision by Donald Trump will cause information so carefully hidden to come to light? What if AARO is…honest and honest in its actions and actually found nothing?

As you can see, there are many reasons not to approach this matter with hurray optimism. Regardless of whether aliens exist or not, or whether the US government is hiding something on this matter, Donald Trump’s declarations, even if they are sincere, which is also questionable, do not mean that we will know the truth. And if we do get to know it, many people may reject it because it won’t turn out to be what they expected.
