Uber as a personal messenger. The driver will collect your parcel and purchases for you
Uber will now be like a concierge. The company has launched a new “Pick-up at your premises” service. Thanks to it, users can commission drivers to deliver goods directly from stationary stores or even collect parcels from parcel machines.

As the company argues, with personal messenger services you can use it at a price slightly higher than Uber Paczka. The price is there dynamicas in the case of traditional journeys, depends on various factors, such as the availability of drivers, time of day or distance. The service has started in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław and Tricity.
Uber touts that its new service will allow for the busy pre-Christmas period avoid standing in lines to the checkout in stores, at the post office or to parcel machines. Thanks to the “Pick up at your premises” option, gifts, shopping, shipments or parcels will be provided the driver could pick up for us.
How does ‘Local Pickup’ work in the Uber app?
To use the new service, you must: in the Uber application, go to the “Services” tab. There is a “Get your affairs in order” section and a “pickup at your premises” option.
In the next step you should provide the address and name of the point (especially if it is located in a larger shopping center) and all necessary data to collect the parcel, such as its number and pickup code. At the end, all you need to do is complete the destination address, i.e. specify where the courier should deliver the parcel.
Delivery progress can be made keep track in the application. When the driver arrives at the indicated address, you will still need to authorize the pickup of the shipment by providing the PIN code.
The new “Collection at Premises” service is available for products already paid for, with a total weight not exceeding 15 kg and worth up to PLN 500.
