Uber and Bolt have a problem. The reason is new regulations and foreigners

Uber and Bolt have a big problem. The reason is new regulations that will come into force in Poland from June, which will primarily affect foreign drivers.

Uber and Bolt may soon have a big problem in Poland. New regulations will come into force from June, which may exclude a large number of drivers of both platforms from driving. Yes, it's about foreigners, TVN24 reports.

Changes in regulations for Uber and Bolt

Anyone who regularly uses Uber and Bolt services will certainly agree with the statement that a large number of drivers are foreigners. This is not an insult, just a statement of fact. Some of them may lose the ability to perform their jobs from June because the regulations will change.

From June 17, a regulation will come into force in Poland, according to which every driver engaged in passenger transport will be required to have a Polish driving license. At first glance, this doesn't seem to be a big problem. The thing is that foreigners can apply for such a document only after 6 months of stay in our country. For this reason, some Uber and Bolt drivers will temporarily lose the opportunity to earn money this way.

Already in 2023, regulations for people involved in passenger transport will be tightened in Poland. Each driver must present a document confirming that he has no criminal record. In addition, they must report to a given company to confirm their identity and take a photo.
