Nintendo Switch OLED vs Switch 2017

to a bigger screen… but not as good as expected

More than six years after the launch of its Switch, Nintendo is actively working on the design of a new iteration of the console expected in 2024. Today we learn a little more about this still very secret machine.

Still very secret, enough to push us to be cautious, the Nintendo Switch 2 continues to aggregate around it a certain number of rumors over the months. And if the track of a launch somewhere in 2024 seems to be slowly becoming clearer, the console is talking about it this week through information supporting previous ones.

At the beginning of the week, some details indeed came to us after the alleged availability of a Switch 2 development kit in certain studios. We learned in particular that the console would benefit from a larger internal storage space, but also that it would remain limited to an LCD screen. These two pieces of information are now supported by the leaker Nate Hate, on YouTube. As reminded WCCFTechseveral of the person’s predictions had turned out to be correct concerning certain video games.

A slightly larger Switch, with a storage capacity worthy of the name?

We thus learn from Nate Hate that the console would be launched in 2024, at the end of the year according to him, and potentially accompanied by a new Super Mario 3D. On the hardware side, the leaker explains that the console would indeed be limited to an LCD screen (as previous rumors had suggested), but that the latter would go to an 8-inch format. As a reminder, the Nintendo Switch OLED currently has a diagonal of 7 inches, against only 6.2 inches for the “standard” version of the console.

Still according to Nate Hate, the Switch 2 (which could very well be baptized differently) would also be equipped with a more generous amount of internal flash memory. The person concerned indeed evokes a capacity of 512 GB on the best equipped configurations… instead of the current 64 GB.

While this information should be taken with a grain of salt at this point, it’s obvious that we’ll continue to hear about the Switch 2 over the coming months. Presumably, therefore, we will have more details to share with you later.
