115 inches and 9000 cd/m2

TCL RM9L is one of the best TVs in the Chinese giant’s portfolio for 2026. It is the successor to last year’s C9K and everything indicates that the RM9L name, which is the American designation, will also be used in Europe.

RM9L is a series equipped with an LCD matrix with RGB miniLED backlight, available in large sizes – up to 85, 98 or 115 cd/m2. The distinguishing feature of these new TVs is a very high peak brightness, as much as 9000 cd/m2. That’s not all – there is also incredibly good color coverage – 100% in the BT.2020 space. Such color coverage has until now been reserved for reference monitors. TCL used a VA matrix in its improved version WHVA 2.0 – with wider viewing angles.

Additional features include 4K at 144Hz refresh rate (which can be increased to 288Hz at 1080p), four HDMI 2.1 ports, Dolby Atmos support, Bang & Olufsen sound system and the new AiPQ Pro image processor. It is worth mentioning that such a number of dimming zones is a technological challenge, because each red, blue and green LED must be individually controlled in each zone – and this requires more computing power and more advanced systems.

Naturally, the TV will support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It is expected that we will get support for the new Dolby Vision 2 standard. Depending on the screen diagonal, we will get a different number of blanking zones – 8736, 11,520 and 16,848 zones, respectively. There is a pre-installed Google TV system on board.

The price and exact date of entry into European stores have not been announced yet. It will definitely be 2026.

This year will also see the release of the flagship TCL X11L SQD mini-LED TV with a brightness of 10,000 cd/m2, improved quantum dot technology and up to 20,000 dimming zones.
