This series has had many alternate titles. One was the worst
Pluribus and everything is clear
“Pluribus” may seem like the perfect title to many people, given its importance and the message of the series. Before the Apple TV series was created, the word Pluribus was not very well known. Inspiration is the Latin phrase “e pluribus unum”, which meant “out of many, one”. But the title of the series was chosen for 2-3 years and turned out to be quite a tedious creative process. He wasn’t the first choice at all.
“The One” wasn’t the only one
Vince Gilligan claims that Pluribus (meaning “The One”) had about 100 different ideas for the title, one of which was literally terrible. A potential title was “Be Kind, Remind.” The series creator shared this information during the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast with Josh Horowitz.
We spent over two or three years trying to find the title, trying to figure it out. We had a list of almost 100, maybe even over 100 titles. The worst of them, I can say now, is “Be Kind, Remind”.
Let us recall that the first two episodes of “Pluribus” in the USA achieved a total of approximately 6.4 million hours of viewing in the first week. In this way, it achieved 4th place, and the series was beaten only by productions with a larger number of available episodes. This is a production that was widely talked about throughout its duration, thanks to an unusual spoiler on Google Earth, or thanks to a beautiful Polish woman who made her debut in it.
“Pluribus” debuted with two episodes on Friday, November 7, 2025. The series has 9 episodes, and the final one was broadcast on December 26, 2025.
