Tak miała wyglądać mocarna karta AMD RDNA 4. Szkoda, że nie powstanie

This is what the powerful AMD RDNA 4 card was supposed to look like. It's a pity it won't be made

At one point, AMD was working on efficient graphics cards with the RDNA 4 architecture, which were supposed to compete with NVIDIA. It's a pity that they won't be made in the end.

We have known for some time that AMD is partially abandoning the next generation of graphics cards. The Reds don't want to race with NVIDIA for the best performance. Instead, they focus on the mid- and low-end. This does not mean that at some point work on very efficient models was not ongoing. The strongest of them promised to be very good.

Powerful AMD RDNA 4 card

Information about what the most powerful graphics card from the Radeon RX 8000 series was supposed to look like appeared on Twitter. They show that the Reds were preparing a really powerful unit. Some sources mention the use of as many as three GDC units. This was to translate into up to 24 computing units and 216 CU. For comparison, Navi 31, i.e. Radeon RX 7900 XTX, has only 96 CU units.

Less optimistic versions mention 16 compute units and 144 CU, which would still be a huge increase over the previous generation. This does not change the fact that such speculations make no sense at this point. AMD stopped working on the card for some unknown reason. Perhaps it was due to the too complicated design, high energy consumption or possible costs. We'll never know.

The fact that AMD is giving up the next generation of graphics cards does not mean that the company is completely giving up the fight against NVIDIA.. The RDNA 4 architecture is supposed to be a transitional one for Red, and with subsequent models from the Radeon RX 9000 line we will probably see very efficient units again.which will hopefully compete for the title of the best on the market.
