Although there are still many months until the premiere of new processors and motherboards, we have had the opportunity to take a look at the Intel LGA 1851 socket.

The event takes place in Germany from April 9 to 11 Embedded World 2024. And although, as the name suggests, it is an event devoted mainly to technologies for industrial computers, there is also information about the consumer market from time to time.

Intel Arrow Lake-S will debut later this year

A moment ago we found out that Intel plans to release graphics cards ARC Battlemage this year, or more precisely before November 29. Now one of the partners has shown the socket in advance LGA 1851.

iBase is a Taiwanese manufacturer present in the embedded sector for many years. Therefore, no one should be surprised that they have good contacts with Intel and AMD and access to solutions that have not yet hit the market. And it so happens that their latest motherboard in the mITX format was prepared with… Intel Meteor Lake-PS.

At first glance, the LGA 1851 socket looks identical to the currently used LGA 1700. This is because they have identical dimensions 45 x 37.5 millimeters. However, we will get more contacts here. To ensure that no one puts the old CPU in the new socket, special plastic protrusions are used.

The premiere of consumer Intel Arrow Lake-S processors and dedicated motherboards is planned for the second half of 2024. The Blues may reveal more details in June, at the Taiwanese fair Computex 2024. Although it should be assumed that more emphasis will be placed on the family Lunar Lake.
