At the end of 2022, processors debuted on the market AMD Ryzen 7000. The new products we received included platforms with chipsets from the series AMD 600 and nest AM5. They allowed us to catch up with Intel and offered, among others: DDR5 RAM support and initial support for the PCI Express 5.0 interface.

Recently, Red and its partners refreshed their offer by releasing new motherboards with chipsets AMD X870 and X870Ewhich were created with the series in mind AMD Ryzen 9000X3D. It’s more of an evolution than a revolution. And it just so happens that it ends up in stores the first proposition for small PCs.
GIGABYTE X870I Aorus PRO ICE is a format motherboard Mini ITXwhich can be proud of white colors. Here we get an 11-phase power supply section (up to 110 A) with a factory heatsink and a 10-layer PCB. There are two banks for DDR5 RAM, supporting speeds up to 8800 MT/s and capacity up to 128 GB.
Expansion cards can be installed in reinforced PCI Express 5.0 x16 connector. It has a convenient release system, which eliminates the need to reach under the graphics card. For data carriers provided two M.2 2280 slots – one PCIe 5.0 x4, one PCIe 4.0 x4 – and two SATA III ports.
The sound codec is top Realtek ALC4080and the network controller is an unspecified Realtek 2.5 Gbps. This is complemented by a built-in network card offering WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The I/O panel is quite modest but modern. It offers two USB 2.0, two USB 3.2 Gen 1, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C, one USB 4 with image transfer function, classic HDMI, two audio ports, a Q-Flash Plus button and connectors antennas with a convenient mounting system.
The GIGABYTE X870I Aorus PRO ICE board is already available for sale abroad. The suggested price in Europe is 329 euros, i.e approximately PLN 1,429. It’s a lot, but miniaturization always costs money. And here we also get good equipment and original white colors.
