All because it happened during a live broadcast. A streamer named jessick played Marvel Rivals. That’s when her MSI RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio card started sending her smoke signals suggesting she’d had enough. More specifically, smoke began to come out of one of the cables connected to the power connector and swelling of the insulation was visible.

Fortunately for us, and unfortunately for herself, Jessica grabbed the camera and thought about what to do with it, instead of immediately turning off the computer. Thanks to this, however, we can see that the game was still running despite the smoke coming out. In such a situation, the only reasonable solution is to immediately cut off the power to the computer. You shouldn’t worry about fire, at least not to such an extent: the materials from which modern electronics are made are non-flammable and quickly extinguish without heat.

Then the whole process went avalanche: the increase in resistance translated into an increase in temperature, which increased the resistance and raised the temperature even more. Unfortunately, the streamer did not boast about what happened next with her graphics card.
