This is how much memory the PlayStation 6 is supposed to have. There’s nothing crazy about it
The information about the amount of RAM (actually shared memory, i.e. RAM and VRAM) was revealed by KeplerL2, a well-known and rather respected informant in the industry.
How much memory in PlayStation 6?
According to unofficial information PlayStation 6 will be equipped with 30 GB of memory. We are talking about GDDR7 32 Gbps modules. What may be a bit worrying is the fact that Sony intends to use a 160-bit bus. This will translate into a throughput of 640 GB/swhich is still more than in PlayStation 5 (448 GB/s) and PlayStation 5 Pro (576 GB/s).
Interestingly, KeplerL2 also provided information about the portable console that Sony is working on. The PlayStation handheld version is to have 24 GB of memory, but we don’t know any more details here.
It is known that PlayStation 6 will use AMD components, including the RDNA5 graphics architecture. The premiere of the console remains an open question. If we stick to the previous cycle, PS6 should debut in 2027. However, the huge crisis on the DRAM and NAND memory market, as well as the bad news regarding key raw materials, may make us wait a few years longer for the device.
