This galaxy shouldn’t exist. A revolutionary discovery of scientists

Scientists have discovered a galaxy that contradicts previous knowledge about space. It is larger than the Milky Way, its history dates back to the beginning of the universe and… it should not exist.

Since it entered orbit James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), Information about discoveries that turn our entire knowledge about space upside down has become an everyday occurrence. So it should come as no surprise that scientists have found another galaxy that shouldn’t exist – at least based on current models.

ZF-UDS-7329 – one of the oldest galaxies in space

A galaxy with a catchy name ZF-UDS-7329 is far away from us by approximately 11.5 billion light years. It is therefore a window for us to take a closer look at a very early stage in the development of the universe. However, there is a problem here. Scientists’ analysis shows that we are dealing here with a developed galaxy that took about 1.5 billion years to reach the state in which we can currently observe it. In effect its age is estimated at approximately 13 billion years.

The point is that, according to the currently dominant cosmological model, at such an early stage of cosmic development (approx. 800 million years after the Big Bang) no galaxies could exist. Sufficiently large clusters are necessary for their formation dark matter, which, according to our current knowledge, did not have time to form. The appearance of the first galaxies is estimated at about 1 to 2 billion years after the Big Bang, and we are talking about relatively small dwarf galaxies. Meanwhile, ZF-UDS-7329 is larger than the Milky Way and in no way fits the model in question.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first object of this type that was tracked thanks to JWST. At this stage, there are more and more suggestions that contemporary cosmological models are flawed and need to be changed, but no one has yet managed to propose a convincing solution to this cosmological puzzle.
