This folding smartphone is half the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 5

Tecno is a little-known brand in Europe, but today it offers innovative products at reduced prices. This is the case with the Phantom V Flip which has just been released at a very competitive price.

The Indian smartphone market is very developed and competitive. Prices are reduced for a population with less purchasing power, with many brands that few people know in our region.

This is particularly the case of Tecno, which came to say hello in Berlin during the IFA. It is the Phantom V Flip which is now offered at an unbeatable price!

Tecno Phantom V Flip, a price folded in half

Folding smartphones arrived a few years ago in Europe and around the world, and a floor price has settled around 1000 euros. Few brands go below this price at release, with a few exceptions like the Motorola Razr 40. Folding smartphones are therefore inaccessible products for many people.

The Phantom V Flip offered by Tecno compensates for this, by offering a price of 49,999 rupees, or approximately 570 euros excluding tax. This price would certainly not be the one offered in Europe, taxes and other costs related to delivery must be included. However, we can clearly see that we are below the average price of folding smartphones offered in France.

Technical characteristics of this affordable smartphone

In terms of technical characteristics, these are still very interesting. We find a 6.9-inch OLED screen, with a brightness of up to 1,000 cd/m². In bulk, the smartphone is offered with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chip and 4,000 mAh battery. The SoC is not the most efficient on the market, but for a less tech-savvy audience, it may be more than suitable.

As for the two cameras on the back, they are placed in a circle around a small 1.32 inch screen. The first offers a 64 megapixel sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and the second, a 13 megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture. There are therefore plenty of small concessions that the most demanding will regret, but which allow the final price to be reduced.

The smartphone is only available in India at the moment. In the period we are experiencing, with many brands withdrawing from the European market, the competitiveness offered by this type of player would clearly do no harm for consumers. All that remains is to hope that the arrival of Tecno happens quickly in France.
