Attempts were made to smuggle 596 Intel Xeon processors
As reported by My Drivers, customs officers at the border crossing in… Hong Kong they noticed the person driving the Mercedes heading towards Shenzhen (China). After a stop and a closer inspection, which included X-rays, the car was discovered inside significant amounts of hidden CPU.
The smuggler had as many as 596 processors hidden and not just any kind of systems, but server systems Intel Xeon. The exact models have not been revealed, but older generations should be assumed. The value of the smuggled goods was estimated at PLN 12 million Hong Kong dollars, i.e. the equivalent approximately PLN 6.2 million.
