It is always the case that when one platform loses users, others gain. That’s what happened this time too. After Trump’s victory, Internet users, following the example of Stephen King, began to abandon Twitter/X en masse. Most have moved to another social media platform – Bluesky.
Bluesky currently has over 18 million users. The company reported that over the last 90 days, the number of its users has doubled, and one day was even record-breaking – over a million new people joined the platform. You could say that Bluesky is benefiting from the crisis around X.

Bluesky – what is it?
Social media platform Bluesky was founded in 2019 by Jack Dorsey, who co-founded Twitter. You could say that it hasn’t been very popular so far. Until now. It is mainly moved by those who are not satisfied with the fact that Elon Musk used X as an election tool for Trump in the US presidential elections.
Top US celebrities, such as Taylor Swift, appeared on Bluesky. But not only them. Users who are discouraged by changes to the X platform that Musk introduces from time to time, sowing confusion, have also switched to it. Some media are also turning away from X – the British “The Guardian” and the Spanish “La Vanguardia” recently announced that they will no longer use the billionaire’s platform. The reason given was that it had become too toxic.
How’s Twitter/X doing?
It turns out that despite numerous or high-profile departures from the platform, it is doing quite well. It still maintains a high number of visits per day. Similarweb.com said it had around 151 million of them, while Bluesky had around 2.8 million. Prime Minister Donald Tusk also has an account on Bluesky, which he announced on November 16.
I heard that there are more and more of you on this second application. From today I am also on Bluesky.
– said Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Mark Zuckenberg is also benefiting from all this turmoil. Threads, owned by Meta, is also growing in strength. The company reported that Threads has added 15 million new users since the beginning of November.
