The latest data on the supply of graphics cards and computer processors indicate a clear improvement in the situation compared to the previous year.
In times economic crisis and global inflation many companies and consumers significantly reduces expenses for the purchase of new equipment. This affects both the computer and smartphone markets. According to the latest report from the research group Jon Peddie Reserach, global the graphics chip market in the first quarter of 2024 reached 70 million units. Thus, deliveries increased by 28% year-on-year, but decreased by 10% quarter-on-quarter. The latter, however, is standard this season.

In terms of market share, the situation is quite stable. AMD (-0.6%) and Intel (-0.3%) recorded slight declines, while NVIDIA recorded equally anemic growth (+0.4%).

The agitation is attributed to the artificial intelligence craze and assistants and technologies available to ordinary mortals. Such solutions are promoted by Microsoft, AMD and Intel – just mention them Copilot+. Lenovo confirms that this had a significant impact on the sales of new laptops.

Additionally, according to Jon Peddie Reserach, computer processor market showed a quarterly decline of 9.4% but an increase of 33.3% year-over-year. These data are also confirmed by the Mercury Research group.
