The Portman series is a gem like no other. They say it’s going to blow you away
Apple TV+ surprises once again with an incredibly successful production. “Woman in the Lake” is a miniseries that will literally blow viewers away.
Apple TV+ may not have as wide an offer as Netflix, but it must be admitted that it has recently focused on quality. If you have watched the series Silo and Sunny, it’s high time to turn on the miniseries The Woman from the Lake. You won’t regret it. This new thriller starring Natalie Portman will literally knock you off your feet.
This is nothing more than an exceptionally successful adaptation of the novel that Apple TV+ has offered to its viewers. A perfect choice for a holiday weekend and beyond. This thriller was inspired by true events, specifically two murders.which took place during the childhood years of the author of the 2019 novel, Lauri Lippman. We are talking about the high-profile case of the kidnapping and murder of an 11-year-old girl of Jewish origin and the completely ignored by the press murder of a black woman. And such a similar plot is the main inspiration for the series. Natalie Portman plays Maddie’s housekeeper and an investigative journalist who, wanting to make a name for herself, decides to solve an unsolved murder case from years ago.. The series takes us on a real journey to Baltimore in the 1960s.
Here we have everything you need in a thriller set in the 60s. In addition to the crime mystery, we will find here racial issues, sexism and the fight for civil rights. A full range of emotions and authenticity. If we add to this the show of Portman’s acting skills, then we are already sure that the series is worth watching. Some critics compare the series to “Big Little Lies” and “Sharp Objects”. More recommendations are needed.
Woman in the Lake is available on Apple TV+ from July 19. New episodes are released every Friday until August 23.
