A 26-year-old Polish woman was arrested by the police after… she cleverly deceived online stores. The woman used other people’s data to place orders in online stores. She collected parcels at her workplace and paid cash on delivery.
And up to that point, apart from changed personal data, everything was not suspicious. The woman, however, then removed some items from shipments and reported to stores that she had received an incomplete shipment. She then returned the parcels, expecting the stores to refund the full amount paid.
Police officers from the Department for Combating Economic Crime at the KSP found that within a few months the woman had ordered this way. as many as 50 different products. Total the damage was calculated at PLN 12,300and as a result of successful complaints, the courier company making the deliveries was charged with them. After being arrested, the 26-year-old pleaded guilty. Now she faces a penalty of up to 8 years in prison due to allegations of unfavorable disposal of property.
