The Ministry of Interior and Administration warns Poles. It can happen to anyone
The Ministry of Interior and Administration once again appeals for prudence and vigilance. As it turns out, fraudsters use every opportunity to look into the wallets of decent citizens.
Collections for flood victims
Now it has become a plague taking advantage of the flood situation and a lot of fundraising advertisements appeared on social media, impersonating well-known and reputable foundations. The ministry’s appeal is as follows: Before we donate anything, let’s make sure that our help will actually reach those in need.
Stay alert ❗

Well-known and reputable foundations and organizations do not guarantee the authenticity of the collection. Their websites may be faked and the money, instead of going to those in need, will actually go straight to the scammers’ account. Let’s only use the official websites of foundations and organizations, let’s check the website address carefully. Do not fill out forms that require providing your personal data and payment card details.
We would also like to remind you that organizing a false collection is a crime. For example, a resident of the Popów commune who collected money for flood victims by cheating donors was charged with fraud and faces up to 8 years in prison.
