PKO BP bank warns its customers. It is worth reading the message he posted on his website and social media:

Beware of fake e-mails impersonating a bank with the subject: “PKO Bank Polski – Confirm payment 2024.11.18”. The messages have different e-mail addresses in the sender field, e.g.: “Accountant PL @pkobp(dot)pl.”

The bank firmly denies being the author of such messages. Unfortunately, the emails contain an attachment containing malware. Clicking on it may result in unpleasant consequences. Hence the institution’s next appeal to customers:

Do not open attachments or click on links in these types of emails. If you click on the link, you may lose your money and control of your account.

– we read on the website of PKO BP Bank.

It is worth remembering that e-mails and text messages from the bank do not contain any links. Before logging in to the website, it is better to double check whether the address is correct and does not contain any suspicious characters. Links to fake websites can also be found in search engine ads, which are confusingly similar to search results. However, if you have any doubts, it is better to contact the bank’s free line: 800 302 302. It’s better to verify in advance than to regret later.
