One of the largest American newspapers, the Washington Post, has introduced a new tool based on artificial intelligence on its website. “Ask the Post AI” is a chatbotwho will answer questions asked by website users, basing his knowledge on all materials published on the newspaper’s website since 2016.

The Washington Post robot is based on specific principles. It only uses the newspaper’s own materials. If the user asks about something that the artificial intelligence does not find in the archive, the chatbot will simply admit that it does not know the answer to the question.

This is a new chapter in the history of our company. We are opening up to the needs of new users. Market changes caused by the development of new technologies pose new challenges for us. We must meet readers’ expectations by providing them with information in the way they expect from us.

Introduction of the “Ask The Post AI” tool, together with a second artificial intelligence tool aimed at presenting up-to-date and verified information on climate change, “Climate Answers” has already increased readers’ interest in the newspaper’s materials and its website.

Meta plans to introduce similar tools to the market. The owner of Facebook has already signed an agreement with the world-famous Reuters agency, under which a similar tool based on the agency’s news will soon appear on the website.
