The giant enters Poland. It has an unusual format

Bob Carrigan, president of Audible, an international giant of the audiobook market, appeared at the London Book Fair. He announced that the service will soon be available in several new countries. Poland is also on the list – informs Świat Czytników.

Audible debuts in Poland

In total, Audible will appear in as many as 11 new markets. These are: Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Poland.

It is worth mentioning here that Auidble has a rather unusual format. As part of the monthly subscription, users have access to a relatively small catalog of audiobooks and can listen to only one book from outside the catalog per month. Additionally, they can also listen to unlimited podcasts.

Importantly, in the cheaper Standard package ($8.99 per month), we lose access to files when we stop paying. In the more expensive Premium Plus ($14.95 per month), we own the audiobooks we listen to, so we can listen to them even if we stop paying for Audible. In total, the website boasts that it offers over a million audiobooks.

If the service center in Poland decides to use the same model, a lot will depend on the price. Nowadays, audiobooks usually cost between PLN 30-45, so in our country the Premium Plus package could not be much more expensive than this, because it would simply make no sense. Meanwhile, $14.95. today it amounts to about PLN 55 per month.
