Koniec legitymacji szkolnych, jakie znamy. Od 13 lipca zmiana

The end of school IDs as we know them. From July 13, a change

This is the end of traditional, paper school IDs. All new documents will be issued in plastic form.

Schools have had the option of issuing plastic school IDs for several years now. However, not all educational institutions have used this option. Now they will no longer have much choice. All school IDs issued from July 13 will have to be in the form of a plastic document. This is the end of traditional paper documents — reports Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.

New school IDs

The change results from the amendment of the Act on Public Documents and the regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration. Both define the minimum security measures that public documents must have to be adequately protected against forgery. The old paper school IDs did not meet these requirements, so it was necessary to introduce plastic documents.

All school ID cards issued from July 13 must be in plastic form. At the same time, paper versions that reach students before that date will still be valid until they finish their studies. The new version, on the other hand, will have the same dimensions as credit cards (86.5 x 53.98 mm) and may have an electronic contactless layer.

The new ID card will include a photo of the student, name and surname, PESEL number, name and address of the school, name of the principal, date of issue of the document, and the ID number. The reverse side will include information on entitlements to discounts, including for public transport. These will have to be confirmed with holographic stickers.issued until September 30 for primary and secondary school students.

The new regulations are a problem for schools. This applies primarily to smaller and poorer schools.
