The End of Bluetooth? New Technology is Chasing, but Has Flaws

What if you had Bluetooth that didn’t “eat” batteries? Will it be possible soon? Scientists have a lot of room to show off and it must be admitted that the results of their research are increasingly impressive.

Technology better than Bluetooth

How can we imagine a world without Bluetooth? We use it almost every day and we can’t really imagine what we could replace it with. However, scientists are not idle and everything indicates that managed to develop technology that not only works identically to Bluetooth, but is even better than it in one aspect.

Bluetooth operation is extremely practical. but it has one big drawback – has a negative effect on the device’s batteryand the range itself leaves much to be desired.

EPSC, or something new is coming

Scientists from the University of Sussex in the UK have created a rather promising answer to Bluetooth – EPSC (Electric Potential Sensing Communication). The main difference between Bluetooth and EPSC is the method of operation. While Bluetooth uses radio waves, EPSC works on the basis of voltage (not power) amplifiers, and in addition, it generates an electric field, not an electromagnetic one. In the case of this new technology the biggest change is the huge energy savings, needed to act.

In the case of EPSC, current is only needed when there is a discharge or a positive charge on the recipient side. It has been calculated that the energy requirement is several times lower than in the case of Bluetooth.

The new technology is still in the early stages of development, but it shows great promise and offers a huge scope for researchers. The biggest problem is still too small a range and too large parameters of the module, which is why it cannot be mounted everywhere. It is unlikely at this point that the new technology will replace Bluetooth, but there is nothing to stop it from existing alongside it, complementing it. Of course, after it has been improved.
