The Coros Pace 3 has what it takes to tackle one of Garmin’s best running watches

The Pace 3, just announced by Coros, promises very effective monitoring of sports activity, at a much more affordable price than Garmin’s Forerunner 255.

Little by little, Coros continues to make its mark in the field of sports watches. The American manufacturer, competitor of Garmin, Suunto or Polar, thus lifted the veil on Tuesday on a new connected watch oriented towards running with particularly attractive characteristics, the Coros Pace 3.

Unsurprisingly, this new watch follows the Coros Pace 2, launched in 2020. If the new Coros Pace 3 retains the featherweight of the previous model – 30 grams with bracelet – it is however enriched with features capable of competing with Garmin in the popular segment of ultra-precise running watches.

More accurate multi-band GPS tracking

Indeed, the Coros Pace 3 is now compatible with L1+L5 multiband geolocation. As such, it therefore comes to walk directly on the flowerbeds of the Garmin Forerunner 255 launched last year. It also benefits from a transflective MIP screen 1.2 inches in diameter for a definition of 240 x 240 pixels and a density of 200 pixels per inch. The screen of the watch, however, benefits from a touch interface, practical for navigating during a route. If the watch is not compatible with cartography, it does however offer route creation and breadcrumb or turn-by-turn navigation.

The Coros Pace 3 is also equipped with 4 GB of storage which will allow you to export your musical titles to run to music, without needing to have your smartphone with you. At Garmin, remember that the classic Forerunner 255 does not offer this function and that you have to buy the “Music» for an additional 50 euros.

The Coros Pace 3

Regarding other features, the Coros Pace 3 is equipped with an optical heart rate monitor, an oximeter, a compass, a barometric altimeter, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. immediately with a nylon or silicone strap.

On the autonomy side, Coros announces that its Pace 3 can operate in conventional use for 24 days, in simple GPS tracking for 38 hours and in dual frequency tracking for 15 hours.

Price and availability of the Coros Pace 3

The Coros Pace 3 differs above all from its competitor from Garmin by its particularly aggressive price. While the Forerunner 255 was offered last year from 350 euros – and at 400 euros in the “Music» — the Coros Pace 3 is displayed at launch at 250 euros.
