Tesla has announced recruitment for robot taxi drivers. And there would be nothing strange about it, if not for the fact that it is “remote work”. So what would it look like? It turns out that The task of the recruited drivers will be to take over the controls of the robotaxi when it encounters unexpected problems on the route.
Robotaxis have been announced for a long time, but it is still not expected that they will appear on our roads soon. The last one their presentation turned out to be quite controversial. But nothing will discourage Elon Musk from taking further action. Tesla is looking for drivers to join its “teleoperation” team. These people would take control of vehicles and robots when they are in trouble, such as getting stuck somewhere or encountering difficulties on the road.
The Teleoperation Tesla AI team is tasked with providing remote access to our robotaxis and humanoid robots. Our cars and robots operate autonomously in difficult conditions. As AI-based solutions are introduced, we need the ability to remotely access and control them.
– this is what we read in the job advertisement.
This is no surprise when it comes to the autonomous car market. Each of them has a rescue team for their vehicles. However, Tesla decided not to delay but to hire. It plans to introduce its fleet of robotaxis in the second quarter of 2025.
