The General Staff of the Polish Army issued an appeal warning citizens that military columns will be moving around Poland in the coming days. There is no reason to worry. This is related to the planned Defender-24 exercises.
Watch out for military columns
We would like to inform you that from May 4 to May 6, military columns are planned to be relocated in the regions of the West Pomeranian, Pomeranian and Warmian-Masurian Voivodeships. Exercise DEFENDER-24 is underway.

The passage of military columns is part of the exercises. They will be used, among other things, to retrain the takeover and transfer of allied forces, as well as to coordinate cross-border activities. Defender 2024 is one of the largest NATO exercises in history. They have been running since mid-February and will last until the end of May. In total, over 100,000 people receive training. soldiers from 32 countries.
The military also asks people to be especially careful on the road, especially when traveling during the long May weekend.
