Sosh, Bouygues Telecom and RED by SFR are increasing their prices: be careful when subscribing or renewing
Notice to consumers: after SFR and Orange, it is the turn of Sosh, Bouygues Telecom and RED by SFR to revise their prices upwards. A silent maneuver that could cost you almost 100 extra euros per year.
After the price adjustments made by SFR and Orange, it is now Sosh, Bouygues Telecom and RED by SFR which are modifying their offers, mainly impacting 4G and 5G mobile plans. This general trend towards reduction of promotional periods deserves particular attention.
Feedback on the adjustments of SFR and Orange
As a reminder, SFR and Orange have initiated a movement to review promotional offers, reducing the duration of reduced prices from 12 to 6 months. The two operators have imposed substantial increases on their customers on their packages, particularly on mobile and fiber offers, with a significant increase observed after the first 24 months of subscription.
More price adjustments
In this context, Sosh, Bouygues Telecom and RED by SFR have also decided to adjust their offers. Each in turn, they reduced the preferential price period from 12 to 6 months, a modification which translates concretely into an annual increase of almost 100 euros on the packages, despite an unchanged price presentation on the surface on their respective pages.
has carried out detailed calculations to illustrate these modifications. The Sosh Fiber Box, previously marketed at 20.99 euros per month before increasing to 30.99 euros, saw its promotion limited to 6 months, which results in an increase of 60 euros per year, or 5 euros monthly. Likewise, the RED box fiber, without commitment, starting at 19.99 euros per month before reaching 29.99 euros, experiences an identical annual increase of 60 euros.
The situation is slightly different at Bouygues Telecom. If the operator has revised some of its mobile offers, in particular the least expensive 4G plans, it has not yet applied changes to its Fiber offers, which continue to offer 12 months of promotion. This distinction between the different offers adds a layer of complexity in understanding the price adjustments underway in the market.

Free, the exception to follow
In this environment, Free stands out for its recently announced choice not to change its prices. At the start of 2023, Free Mobile promised not to change its prices for the next four years. We will see, however, what Free has planned, particularly in the context of the upcoming arrival of the Freebox V9, which could be the occasion for significant announcements concerning its pricing policy.
