In this field, the Japanese will once again cooperate with AMD, which will provide key components for PS6. This is interesting because in the case of PS5, Sony also held talks with NVIDIA before they decided on Red’s offer.

Work on PlayStation 6 is expected to last for about a year. Despite this, Sony has not yet chosen the final hardware specification, because we are several years away from the premiere, so a lot will change in terms of available solutions. However, PS6 will use Ray Tracing, Path Tracing, machine learning and AI. In the case of the latter two, we are talking about solutions that would make independent characters in games (so-called NPCs) more real.

Sony is reportedly targeting the premiere of PlayStation 6 for 2028. Earlier, probably at the end of 2024, the company should present PlayStation 5 Pro. In addition, work is also underway on a portable device, which is currently called PlayStation Vita 2.
