Santander Bank Polska – urgent message for customers

Santander Bank customers should be careful. CSIRT KNF warns that someone is impersonating an institution to obtain logins and passwords.

Fake advertisements on social media leading to equally fake banking websites is a not very original, but definitely effective phishing method. Therefore, you simply have to follow it. This time the alarm covers customers of Santander Bank Polska.

CSIRT KNF warns that someone has cloned the website of this institution and tempting with an alleged bonus of PLN 1,000, encourages you to log in to a fabricated website. Therefore, it steals data.

Please note that the trick used may be even more misleading because Santander Bank itself is also currently running a promotion under which it allows you to obtain additional funds. It's not PLN 1,000, but PLN 400, but still.

However, this type of campaigns do not mean that you just need to log in and that's it. The bank wants to encourage customers to be more active, so the bonus applies only new accounts that meet specific operational conditionse.g. limit on non-cash payments.

Of course, it goes without saying that you should avoid being tricked by criminals and, if necessary, contact your bank's hotline and change your password immediately.
