Samsung presented two new monitors for gamers. Both are equipped with OLED matrices. Previously, the Korean manufacturer already had such devices in its offer, but they were often huge screens that were not particularly suitable for playing on a computer. The new models will be available in more friendly sizes.

Samsung Odyssey OLED, i.e. new monitors

The first model is the Samsung Odyssey OLED G80SD. It is a 32-inch monitor that can display 4K Ultra HD images. It offers a refresh rate of 240 Hz and a response time of only 0.03 ms, which is the domain of OLED matrices. In addition, it is equipped with one DisplayPort and two HDMI connectors, as well as two USB ports. Interestingly, it also has a Smart TV system, so you can also use it as a TV.

The new Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung's first AI-powered OLED gaming monitor. The NQ8 AI Gen3, which is the same processor Samsung uses in its 2024 8K TV, upscales content to nearly 4K when using Samsung Gaming Hub(2) and native Smart TV apps, providing higher resolution for gaming and entertainment.

The second monitor is the Samsung Odyssey OLED G60SD. This is a more traditional design with a 27-inch 1440p screen and 360 Hz refresh rate. In this case, it is not an AI-powered device. It also lacks Smart TV, so it's clearly an offer aimed more at computer users. The response time is also 0.03 ms.

Both monitors support AMD FreeSync Premium and Samsung OLED Safeguard+ technology, which is designed to ensure the durability of organic matrices. The brightness level of only 250 nits may be a bit worrying, but that's how it is with OLEDs. The monitors cost PLN 5,699 (G80DS) and PLN 3,899 (G60DS).
