Samsung confirms the leaks. This is the end of screen peeping
Samsung confirms the leaks
The Korean manufacturer issued a statement announcing a new security system. Thus, Samsung officially confirmed the reports that have been circulating on the Internet for some time. The leaks suggested work on a function that would make it difficult for third parties to view the screen. Now we know that such a solution is actually being developed and will soon be available to users.
The problem is common. We use phones on buses, elevators and in checkout lines. In such situations, it is easy to lose sensitive data. Someone standing next to you may see the password you type or the content of your private message. The new function is intended to eliminate this risk without the need to apply physical privatization foils.
Intelligent pixel protection
The technology being developed will not operate continuously. Engineers focused on flexibility. The system will allow for selective strengthening of security at selected moments. Protection is activated, for example, when entering login passwords or launching a banking application. The user will not have to change the main settings of the entire device.
The protection will cover more than just full-screen applications. Samsung indicates that the protection also applies to smaller interface elements (photos below). These may be pop-up notifications or system dialogs. The solution will offer precise configuration. They can be turned on permanently, temporarily limited or turned off completely in the safety of your home environment.
The result of five years of work
The new privacy standard was not created overnight. Company representatives inform that this is the result of over five years of engineering work. Various smartphone use scenarios were tested in real conditions. This allowed for the creation of a system combining the hardware and software layers.
Koreans call it pixel-level privacy protection. The feature will become an integral part of the Samsung Knox platform. It will join solutions such as Knox Vault and Knox Matrix. Samsung announces that the technology will come to Galaxy smartphones soon. According to earlier, unofficial reports, it is to be included in the upcoming Samsung flagships, the premiere of which will probably take place on February 25, 2026.
