Realme 16 5G officially. 7000 mAh battery and a look borrowed from Pixel
Although Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+ are already available on the market, the manufacturer told us to wait a while for the basic model. Realme 16 5G was officially launched in Vietnam today and should be available for wider global distribution soon.
What immediately catches the eye is the changed style of the device. Unlike the Pro variants, which are strongly associated with the new OnePlus or Oppo, the basic Realme 16 5G has a completely different, although still well-known, style. The inspirations here are quite obvious – the characteristic horizontal camera island is reminiscent of solutions known from Google Pixel smartphones, and the manufacturer itself also refers to the iPhone Air. The device is 8.1 mm thick and weighs 183 grams, and the housing meets the IP66, IP68 and IP69/69K resistance standards.
On the front of the device there is a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution (2372 × 1080 pixels). The panel is refreshed at a frequency of 120 Hz, and its peak brightness is expected to reach an impressive 4,500 nits, with the typical brightness being 1,000 nits. The display is protected by AGC DT-Star D+ glass and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader is integrated with it, which is a nice addition in this class of equipment.
The heart of Realme 16 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chip, supported by 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM in the LPDDR4X standard and UFS 2.2 internal memory with a capacity of up to 256 GB. The whole thing works under the control of the realme UI 7.0 system.
However, the strongest point of the specification seems to be the power supply section. Realme 16 5G is equipped with a powerful battery with a capacity of up to 7000 mAh. The battery will be charged with a power of 60 W.
When it comes to the photo section, the main role here is played by a 50 Mpix matrix (IMX852 sensor) with an f/1.8 brightness lens. It is accompanied by a modest 2 Mpix depth monochrome sensor. An interesting feature of the design is the selfie mirror placed on the edge, which allows you to frame self-portraits using the main camera, although there is still a solid 50 Mpix camera on the front.
Realme 16 5G is available in two colors: white White Swan and black Black Cloud. In Vietnam, the price of Realme 16 starts at VND 11,490,000 for the 8/256 GB variant, which translates to approximately PLN 1,560. The more powerful version with 12 GB RAM was valued at VND 12,490,000, or approximately PLN 1,700. For now, it is not known when and at what price the phone will be available in Poland.
