Raspberry Pi I don’t think I need to introduce myself to anyone. These single-board based computers ARM architecture have been continuously popular since 2012. At an affordable price and in a compact format we get the perfect platform for DIY, for learning, but also as a basic internet machine.

We already know that the British are preparing for the premiere of the model Raspberry Pi 500and recently dedicated accessories in the form of a memory card and a rubber cover have hit the market. Now it’s time for the official SSD.
Raspberry Pi SSD are semiconductor media in M.2 2230that use the interface PCI Express 3.0 x4 and protocol NVMe 1.4. The controller and memory chips used have not been revealed, but the manufacturer is a Chinese company BIWIN. It is an OEM supplier for, among others: Acer, HP or Lenovo.

We have two capacities to choose from – 256 and 512 GB. The declared performance is up to 40,000 and 70,000 IOPS and up to 70,000 and 90,000 IOPS for random reading and writing. Some stores also provide up to 3260 MB/s for reading and up to 2660 MB/s for sequential writing. This is much more efficient than any microSD card.

Raspberry Pi SSD is about to go on sale. The suggested price in Poland is 154 PLN for the 256 GB versions and 229 PLN for the 512 GB model. Therefore, these are one of the cheapest solutions on the market in this format that are compatible with “Malinka”. There will also be sets with M.2 HAT+, which are approximately PLN 45 more expensive.
