Raspberry Pi with a new model. This equipment is not for everyone
We have good news for people who use Raspberry Pi extensively in their devices. The British released a model between CM3 and CM4.
Raspberry Pi Compute Module debuted on the market in 2014, it is an alternative to the classic Malinka in the form of SBC, which is intended for industrial applications. These modules do not have traditional connectors such as USB or HDMI, and instead are mounted in special motherboards.
Compute Module 4S will be available in 2, 4 and 8 GB RAM versions
All models have so far used a 200-pin interface SO-DIMM, the same as in RAM memory for laptops and Mini PCs. This only changed with the release of Compute Module 4. However, the British listened to the voice of the people and released the CM 4S version. Now it will have new variants.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation announced expanding the Compute Module 4S offer with versions with more RAM. In addition to the current 1 GB, there will be more to choose from 2, 4 and 8 GB. Both variants with and without integrated eMMC memory (8, 16 and 32 GB). The modules do not have WiFi or Bluetooth connectivity.
The general specification remains unchanged – dimensions 67.6 x 27 millimeters and a quad-core SoC in the form of Broadcom BCM2711 with timing 1.5 GHz. The motherboard allows you to output GPIO 46, USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0 and MIPI DSI/CSI for the display and camera.
As mentioned earlier, Compute Module 4S is a solution for industry. Meaning that the new module will not be available for official retail sale. It can be ordered in sets of 200 for $25 each. This does not mean, however, that selected stores will not sell on their own.
